In Cub Scouts, you will participate in outdoor adventures, try new things, learn important skills, set and achieve goals, and develop character. At Pack 356, we believe in the transformative power of nature and community. Our Cub Scouts develop confidence, independence, and a deep appreciation for the world around them through a variety of fun and engaging activities. From camping, to arts and crafts, to team-building games, there's something for everyone at Cub Scout Pack 356.

Cub Scouts is a program that operates outdoors whenever possible. Our activities include camping, fishing, swimming, hiking, outdoor games, shooting sports, campfires, ceremonies, skits, conservation, service projects, and more!
Scouting provides consistent opportunities for Scouts to learn and practice leadership skills. Leading projects and peers is the norm for kids in the program, helping kids develop into adults who standout as leaders in their workplaces and communities.
Probably the most recognizable and enjoyable event a Cub Scout will take part in, the Pinewood Derby is a yearly competition that promotes creativity, physics, engineering, and essential skills. Plus, it's a lot of fun!
Cub Scouts are grouped by grade-level in what we call Dens. In the den, Cub Scouts develop new skills and interests, practice sportsmanship and good citizenship, and learn to do their best, not just for themselves but for the den as well.
Cub Scouts regularly participate in various exciting STEM activities, including robotics, plant and animal science, environmental science, orienteering, pioneering, chemistry, astronomy, engineering, physics, and more!
Safety is integral to the Scouting program and will be covered for many areas. Cub Scouts learn about first aid, emergency preparedness, swimming and boating safety, fire safety, and how to protect themselves from physical, sexual, and online abuse.
Here are answers to the five that are most frequently asked by new families.
Scouting builds positive character and prepares young people for life.
The BSA promotes a culture where each youth, volunteer, and employee feels a sense of belonging and builds communities where every person feels respected and valued.
Leading by example and encouraging each other to live by the values expressed by the Scout Oath and Scout Law, we welcome families of all backgrounds to help prepare young people to serve as successful members and leaders of our nation’s increasingly diverse communities.
